You can make an appointment online via your online patient area (MyHealth.net) or by phone until 10:30am. First check the information on Home doctor.co.uk or use the tool Should I go to the doctor? before making an appointment.
Duration of consultation
For each complaint, the GP has 10 minutes for the interview and (possibly) physical examination. If you have multiple complaints or need more time, the GP will ask you to make a new appointment.
Reason for contact
When making an appointment, the assistant will ask the reason for your contact. The assistant is trained for this purpose and does so to assess the nature and urgency of your query. Like the GP, the assistant is obliged to treat your information confidentially.
Cancelling an appointment
Do you want to cancel the appointment? Please let us know at least 4 hours in advance. Don't show up? This can happen once. If it happens again, we will charge the stay-away rate.
If you have a short medical question, you can also make an appointment at the doctor's call-back office. The assistant will give you an estimate of what time you will be called back. Still haven't been called at the mentioned time? Don't panic, the GP will call you in any case the same day.
In your online patient environment, you can ask your GP a question via an e-consult. This e-consult is intended for short medical questions and takes place via a secure, encrypted connection. Your GP will respond within 3 working days. However, the e-consult is not suitable for urgent matters. In case of acute complaints, such as unexpected pain, severe shortness of breath or chest pain, it is important that you call the emergency line immediately.
Add photo: You can easily add a photo so that the GP can see it with you. Don't forget to also add a clear explanation of your complaint, so that the GP gets a good idea of the situation.
