Help with nutrition and weight change

Do you have questions about nutrition, such as diabetes, obesity or unintentional weight loss? A dietician gives personalised nutritional advice that suits your situation. You can also without reference make an appointment.

A dietician helps with, among other things:

  • diabetes (including during pregnancy)
  • cardiovascular disorders
  • gastrointestinal complaints
  • overweight or underweight
  • food allergies or intolerances
Good nutrition is also especially important for the elderly, for example in dementia or after a stroke.

Make an appointment

Dietitians work in health centres, hospitals or independently. Sometimes a home visit is possible if coming to the practice is inconvenient. During the first appointment, you and the dietician discuss your health situation, lifestyle, wishes and goals. Based on your situation, the dietician will prepare tailor-made advice, tailored to what is feasible and pleasant for you. Together with the dietician, you decide how many sessions are needed.

Costs and reimbursement

  • Dietary advice is 3 hours per year reimbursed from the basic insurance. This falls under the own risk.
  • Do you participate in a chain care programme through your GP, such as diabetes? Then the costs are often fully reimbursed.
  • Additional reimbursement is sometimes possible with supplementary insurance.

Questions or make an appointment?

Want to know if a dietitian can help you? Then contact a dietician practice or discuss it with your GP. Together you can see what suits your situation best.

Healthier weight with help from a lifestyle programme

Want to work towards a healthier weight and lifestyle? Discuss with your GP or practice nurse whether a lifestyle programme suits you.

A lifestyle programme will help you lose weight and live healthier if you are overweight. Depending on the programme you participate in, you will receive guidance from a lifestyle coach, dietician, physiotherapist or exercise therapist or a combination of these healthcare providers.
